AT WHICH POINT you can then use your BIRDRIGHTS to go beyond other teams offers by +3million in "TOTAL FA BID VALUE" and thus utilize (1) of (2) (BR) for the season. This is for (FA BR) ..(QO BR) are slightly different ..reference Rules>Birdrights - QO/FA for further detail.
B) You maybe alternatively choose to forego any FA for your birdrights player by simply announcing you would like to offer the player the player a MAX birdrights offer.)
......
Normal FA limits
League Salary limits for Experience level, 5yr, 8% increase/decrease, TO/PO options, can't go over cap to sign anyone (except for Mid-level exception ~5mil..and vet exceptions... NOTE Mid-level can be split into two offers 60% and 40% respectively.
BIRDRIGHTS
Extended Salary limits, 6yr, 10.5% increase, PO options ONLY, CAN GO OVER CAP IF USE THE BIRDRIGHT EXCEPTION (beyond normal teams limits).
------------
*** Remember using TO = only 50% of that years salary for equating a "better contract" for the player. You will pay your offered value in the contract if you win...this 50% is only to decide winning contract offers (what would be best for the player)
*** Remember that PO = 150% of that years salary for equating a "better contract" for the player...You will only pay the offered value in the contract if you win... this 150% is only to decide winning contract offers (what is best for the player).
TO/PO is only available in the last year of the offer.
After you equate for "TOTAL FA BID VALUE" value, whom ever's contract offer has the most $xx,xxx, xxx.xx TOTAL FA BID value wins.
