Free Agency is now open please place your bids in the appropriate place on the boards.
Each player gets a NEW TOPIC per auction...auctions are a week long. Bids may use Player Options (PO) and TEAM OPTIONS(TO).
There is a CONTRACT VALUE and a BID VALUE. Contract is exactly what the offer you make for a player...if you win them that's their contract. BID VALUE = if you throw a TO on a players final year on contract that years BID value = 50% of that last years salary. PO = 150%.
HIGHEST BID VALUE WINS THE FREE AGENT!!! At which point, the winner gets the player for the CONTRACT VALUE on their roster!
Example
offer is 3yrs straight up for 10mil per year. this means contract value = 30million$ Bid value = 30mil$ also.
if you did 3yrs with the final year being a TO...the contract value is still $30mil but the bid value is now only $25mill.
If you did 3yrs with the final year being a PO..the contract value is still $30mil but the bid value is now $35mil!!
SO as you can see TO/PO/Regular salary years make a difference in your Bid value to win a Free Agent!! TO<Regular<PO!!
If you are over the cap you may only use Vet Exceptions. (Min salary for 2 years for MLB players, 3yrs for AAA guys, 4yrs for all others)
